Some Frequently Asked Questions...
Who comes to do the actual work? I do. Often by myself, but usually with a helper or another tradesman I can trust. On bigger jobs like additions or siding, I use the same reliable subs I've been using for years.
Do you work from start to finish? Yes. It doesn't make any sense to me to drop tools somewhere only to pick them up to go to another job. I know lots of guys do this but I try to avoid it. When we start a job, we stay until it is completed.
How long have you been doing this? Almost as far back as I can remember. I used to pull out my dads tools when I was a little kid just to make things. I started doing actual installations while working at a hardware store in the 80's, managed to get into the Pipefitter's Union in 1990, and started Hathaway Renovations in 1992. So all in all, I'd say over 25 years.
Are you licensed and insured? Yes, I am licensed by the State of New Jersey. You cannot pull a permit for a job as a contractor without this. I am not a licensed plumber or a licensed electrician but the guys I use are dependable and good at what they do. I have all necessary insurance as required by the state.
